This picture shows the old walled city of Rome with the Porta di San Giovanni through which had to drive the traveler to get to Frascati. In the background, the characteristic silhouette of the Alban Hills stretches. Josef Rebell used a highly unique picture composition, because the area outside the city walls, which, after all, occupies the bottom half of the image shows only a flat meadow.
