This detached fresco is from a series of four ovals that were designed by Tiepolo and painted by his workshop for the decoration of the corners of the ceiling of a room in the Palazzo Valle-Marchesini-Sala in Vicenza. The attribute of the vase identifies the allegorical figure as representing Temperance.

Giovanni Battista Tiepolo was a male painter, printmaker, whose style was mainly Rococo. The Italian painter lived for a total of 74년, born in 1696 in Venice, Venezia province, Veneto, Italy and died in the year 1770.
